Hell, Dateline NBC has used the most God awful string synth violin patch on it's main opening theme for a decade or more and no one seems to care. It is not perfect, but overall it raises the bar. Neither sounds like LASS, which is simply a realistic and expressive string section, probably the best I've heard. Spectrasonics has Omnisphere, which has some great string "synth" patches too, they work well when you need that. If that's what you like, it does it well. You can tune in to almost any Forensic file type show any night of the week and hear that stuff. I said it sounded like a synth orchestra, which you hear all the time in movies, TV, etc. There are artists who put months into recording an album and very few get rave ratings, welcome to planet earth. If the developers are reading, I wish them every success with Cinematic Strings.Hey don't shoot the messenger. It must be soul-destroying to have your work immediately slammed. Not to mention an enormous financial investment. However, I can't help feeling sympathy for the developer of a huge library like that when the first reply on a thread like this is so damning.Ĭreating a sample library like this takes many months of tedious, meticulous and mind-numbing graft. I've not listened to Cinematic Strings, yet.

Ouch! Come down off that fence before you fall.
